The Muskegon Tooling Alliance of West Michigan (MTA) was formed in July 2006. MTA includes 8 regional West Michigan tool and die companies with diverse capabilities, technologies and resources.

The main reason for forming our tooling collaborative is to utilize and share our technologies in design, machining and equipment. The MTA collaborative business members are better positioned to respond faster and more competitively than any individual member.

Each MTA member has a special niche with machining equipment, design capabilities or machining technology. Our design software includes UG (Uni-Graphics), Mastercam, Cadkey, VX, AutoCad and Solidworks. Our equipment capabilities include Wire EDM, CNC Sinker EDM, 4 & 5-axis CNC milling, 3 through 5-axis CBN grinding, 5 & 6-axis CNC grinding, Jig grinding, OD grinding, 100 ton -250 ton presses, large horizontal CNC milling, TIG and wire welding, multiple Bridgeports and surface grinders, wood model molding and multiple CMM measuring. MTA services include design and build Aerospace & IGT tooling and machining; custom design/manufacture of grinding equipment, including custom application processes; Furniture and automotive tool and die, fabrication and machining; special cutting tools, stamping tooling and fixtures; and design, build and certify gauges and fixtures.

By sharing our technologies and diversity, the MTA collaborative members will expand:
1) Our marketing and sales opportunities,
2) Our design and manufacturing efficiencies,
to further enhance our ability to successfully compete in the global market.
